Gold Vs. Columbia Blue Highlights

5/12/2024

Daniel Grifford (2028 OF, Glendale, AZ) pieced a double to the oppo gap for one of the better hits of the day. Has a ton of feel for this age with advanced strength off the bat. Gets quality A swings off consistently.

Tanner Sultan (2028 SS, Tucson, AZ) had two loud doubles on the day to the pull side gap. Athletic traits that have been displayed this entire weekend and he gets the barrel on plane very well. Solid contact and has a feel for staying on spin.

Matthew Ricciardella (2029 3B, Las Vegas, NV) solid two-way showing and showed well in relief. Threw strikes and competed. Has a smooth right-handed swing with feel for the barrel present.

Trenten Sommers (2028 RHP/IF, Kingman, AZ) continues to string together the hits this weekend. Found two loud knocks and more than held his own in the box. Faced solid velocity and showed quick hands to handle it. Has promising arm talent on the hill.

Jackson Clarke had a good day as well with a pair of knocks and the showing some real quality feel for the barrel. Had a good weekend with the stick.

Gold Vs. Black Game Highlights

5/12/2024

J. Haizen Reidhead (2028 SS, Queen Creek, AZ) big arm talent on display from a lanky frame. Ran it up to 82 mph and lived there with good curveball and changeup. Super quick arm and spotted over three innings, missed bats at will.

Anthony Garcia Ii (2029 C, Santa Cruz, CA) showed a really good piece of hitting, striping one down the right field line and stretching for a double. Worked a long at-bat in the process and trusted his hands to get the barrel out front.

Joseph Rosko (2029 SS, Glendale, AZ) showed out on both sides and impressed. Had several hard hit balls working the barrel to all fields and showed well in relief pitching to contact awfully well.

Lucas Ota-Salas (2029 3B, Henderson, NV) pieced a ball to the left-center gap for a double. Loose lefty swing with good impact off it, and he also showed up in his tart. Pitched to contact really well and it's a loose high slot. Good frame to build upon and the ability stood out.

Landon Swinehart (2028 OF, Buckeye, AZ) continues to impress with the stick and defense out in center field. The bat-to-ball ability and overall athleticism is advanced and has been on display all weekend.

4-Black vs. 5-Columbia Blue

5/12/2024

Cole Reyes (2027 C, El Paso, TX) got the start on the mound and threw a quick shutout inning where he ran the fastball up to 82 and mixed in a quality low 70s SL that produced a couple whiffs. Also added a double over the CF's head at the plate.

Joey Dresch (2029 C, West Sacramento, CA) had a 2H day with his first being a 5-6 hole GB and a soft liner into left. Also threw two quick shutout innings on the mound where he pounded the strike zone at a high rate.

Jaxson Reid (2028 RHP, Gilbert, AZ) barreled up a hard GB down the 3B line for a single to start the game and added an INF single later.

Alecsander Worosylla (2028 3B, Queen Creek, AZ) put a nice swing on a low fastball and barreled it into right for a soft LD single.

Nolan Rudd (2027 OF, Millville, CA) threw two shutout innings where he struck out four. Flashed a lively FB that he ran up to 80 and mixed in a developing low 60s breaker. Also added a opposite field single.

6-Gold vs. 4-Black

5/11/2024

Joseph Rosko (2029 SS, Glendale, AZ) barreled up a fastball hard into left for a line drive single early to start the game.

Mikey Stortz (2028 1B, Buckeye, AZ) found a couple hard barrels at the plate in game two while also showing some quality stuff on the mound where it's an easy effort delivery that produced a mid-upper 70s fastball with some natural run and mixed in a low-mid 60s breaker that buckled several RHH hitters.

Matthew Baas (2028 RHP, Redding, CA) put together one of the better swings of the game where he drove an outside FB into the RC gap for an LD single. Showed a compact/direct path with some easy barrel quickness.

Landon Swinehart (2028 OF, Buckeye, AZ) drove a low-in fastball deep into the RC gap for a double showing a smooth LH stroke but it was his several difficult catches in both RF and CF that made him a standout in this game.

Trenten Sommers (2028 RHP, Kingman, AZ) barreled up two balls this game, the first a drive over the CF's head for a triple and added a hard GB single into left.

Brody Kosor (2028 SS, Scottsdale, AZ) showed his smooth LH swing on a fastball he lined to the opposite field into left for a single.

5-Columbia Blue vs. 6-Gold

5/11/2024

Tanner Sultan (2028 SS, Tucson, AZ) had a nice two-way showing in game two where he threw 2 shutout innings on the mound where he struck out four and added an oppo double into the RC gap as well. Showed a loose/easy delivery that ran the FB into the mid 70s with a quality upper 60s slider. At the plate it's a compact/direct RH stroke that flashes some above avg. bat speed for his level.

Jackson Clarke (2028 RHP, Goodyear, AZ) found his second double of the day in Game 2 where it was a very similar hit to his first where he drove a double into LC gap.

Henry Knight (2027 SS, Phoenix, AZ) added two hits in Game 2. His first being one he showed adjustability on with a 2K curveball he flicked into left for a single. His second was a soft liner he sent back up the box. Knight shows easy rhythm and balance to the swing that has allowed for some consistent timing.

Lucas Ota-Salas (2029 3B, Henderson, NV) might have had the loudest barrel of this game where he drove a FB into the RC gap for a standup double. It's a shorter but quick stroke that shows flashes of some bat speed and it was impressive he was able to get the barrel flat to the high FB.

Parker Spade (2028 C, Phoenix, AZ) found his second barrel of the day in Game two where he shortened up and drove and outside FB into the RC gap for a standup double, this timing some adjustability in both swing and approach.

4-Black vs. 5-Columbia Blue

5/11/2024

Matthew Baas (2028 RHP, Redding, CA) got the start for Team Black and went three shutout innings. The big and physical RHP showed a deceptive crossfire delivery. He ran the FB up to 71 that showed some natural run to it and mixed in a developing low 60s breaker he landed for strikes.

Parker Spade (2028 C, Phoenix, AZ) found one of the better barrels in Game 1 where he lined one hard back up the box for a single. He keeps it pretty simple with the lower half and allows his quick hands to throw the barrel on a clean path through.

Jackson Clarke (2028 RHP, Goodyear, AZ) had the only extra base hit of the game where he sent a long FB over the LF's head. Stands with some noticeable physicality and strength in the box with a swing that shows some lift.

Jacob Black (2028 C, Mesa, AZ) had a clean LD single into left on a low FB that he adjusted posture on with a swing that stayed through the baseball very well.

Nolan Rudd (2027 OF, Millville, CA) and Anthony Garcia Ii (2029 C, Santa Cruz, CA) both added hard 5-6 hole GB singles that easily got through the infield.
