2023 National Underclass West Showcase
1/7/2023 8:58:54 PM

Preston Armstrong (2025 Goodyear, AZ) has big bat speed and strength that plays to pull. He’s a physical presence and switch hitter with projectable power the plays to both gaps. Very solid round.

Grady Pratt (2026 Gilbert, AZ) showed a lot to like from a lefty path. Big bat speed and strength to pull, turning the barrel over nicely. Good frame with more in store. Has the athletic traits to build upon offensively.

Gavin Short (2024 Phoenix AZ) showed solid pull-side turns with good barrel control. Solid timing and looked awfully comfortable turning on some. Good pull-side contact and the hands work.

Aubrey Peterson (2025 Arlington, TX) showed good extension out front with enough strength to barrel some in his round. He sprayed hard to the gaps with good intent in the path. Physical presence with strength that stood out.

Tait Reynolds (2026 Queen Creek AZ) has advanced hand speed and loud impact off the barrel. Sprays hard to both gaps with tons of strength coming off. Athletic product with huge upside.

Miguel Cabrera Diaz (2026 Redwood City, CA) sound path with good strength off the barrel. Good plays to both gaps and has a solid set of hands. Works it out front and gets a good swing off consistently.

Logan Carney (2024 Mesa, AZ) was solid in his round. Simple, repeatable path with some torque. Good feel for both gaps, hitterish look with lots to like in the frame. Controls levers well and has some traits to work with.

Tyler Brazil (2024 San Marcos, CA) works well from a deep uncoiled load. It’s good power to the pull-side gap from a strong build. Good backspin and carry in the path and the power showed up.

Luis Mejia (2026 Phoenix, AZ) is an athletic product with a looser path and good bat speed. The hands work well and quick with solid feel for the barrel. He’s a standout for his age.

Mason Moore (2025 Mesa, AZ) stung both gaps in an impressive round. Hard pull-side turns and the strength in the path can play a bit. Physical frame that showed well in the box.

Jack Ohman (2024 Mesa, AZ) showed big intent to the pull side in his round. Bat speed and strength combination was solid and his feel for the barrel was on display.

Ryan Hubbard (2026 El Dorado Hills, CA) showed some advanced bat speed with quick hands and pull-side sprays to the gap. Good traits from a shorter path and the hands work. Get on time and on pane.

Noah Massey (2025 Albuquerque, NM) has a lot to like at the plate. Clean path with good extension. Bat speed and jump off the barrel stood out. Hard pull-side line drives and was in control. The hand-eye and overall feel should show in game.
