2022 Fall Atlantic Coast Showcase (10/29/2022 - 10/30/2022)

5-Navy vs. 6-White Game Highlights
10/30/2022 1:30:53 AM

Cole Ivady (2024 RHP, Wilmington, NC) came out in the first inning and sat in the upper-80s with the fastball. He got it up to 89 mph a couple times. He would mix in a changeup and a breaking ball later in counts. It's a loose, quick arm with good extension down the mound. Has looked dominant with three strikeouts already. He also smoked a triple into right field in the first. Excellent performance.

Russell (Rusty) Haswell (2024 RHP, Hubert, NC) smoked a ball into the left center gap for a triple. He showed a flat path through the zone with good bat speed and whip through the zone. He's also an above average runner which was on display on the triple. He also got on the mound and sat in the mid-80s with a sharp, downer-shaped breaking ball.

Broderyk Miller (2024 LHP, Newport, NC) is a long, lean left hander that threw the ball well in his three inning start. Fastball got up to 81 mph with angle and feel for a breaking ball. He still has a lot of room for growth in the frame.

Luke Heaps (2025 RHP, Garner, NC) rolled through his first inning of relief. The fastball got into the upper-70s with much more in the tank. He has long arms which create some angle and deception on the mound.

Matthew Mansbery (2026 SS, Brecksville, OH) did a lot of good things in his first game action of the weekend. The lean athlete made a charging play at shortstop which continues what we saw in the workout portion and also had a double and a single the other way.

Luke Childress (2024 3B, Tazewell, VA) hammered a ball back up the middle for a single in the later innings. He's a physically built kid with bat speed and obvious feel for the barrel.

James West (2026 RHP, Florence, SC) looked solid on the mound in his relief appearance. The fastball sat in the upper-70s and grabbed 80 mph with a big shaped breaking ball.

Jake Michalek (2024 SS, Winston Salem, NC) hit a ball hard the other way in the ninth inning for a triple. He's a taller, physical player with some jump off the barrel that has been on display throughout the day.
