2022 Fall Atlantic Coast Showcase (10/29/2022 - 10/30/2022)

3 Gold vs. 4 Green Highlights
10/29/2022 10:29:09 PM

Luke Hemric (2025, LHP, Apex, N.C) is a long and projectable 6-2/175 southpaw with a live arm and two very good present pitches.  He worked in the 81-84 mph range with his fastball with hard running life at times from an easy low effort arm action.  Hemric’s slider was a weapon as well, checking in the mid-70’s with 2300+ rpm and nice tight biting life.  He also showed promise with a 72 mph change up that he deadened the spin very well on.

Kyson Rinnert (2025, RHP, Marion, N.C.) grabs your attention as a long limbed 6-4/170 youngster with a loose arm and the ability to throw strikes.  He worked up to 81 mph to go with a 65-67 mph curveball that had good downer tilt along with some feel for a change up.  Rinnert cruised through his three-inning outing.

Camden Hayworth (2026, LHP, Kingsport, Tenn.) really stands out for his strong 6-4/215 build.  He repeats his delivery well for his age and showed good command of a fastball that touched 82 mph.  Hayworth also landed an upper 60’s slurve well and showed nice maturity in mixing his pitches and locations for his age.

Braden Polsky (2025, RHP, Cornelius, N.C.) has an athletic 6-0/175 build and lots of quick twitch athleticism.  He works from the stretch with drop and drive lower half mechanics and a quick and compact arm action.  The ball comes out of his hand easily and his 84-86 mph fastball had carry and played up in velo.  He also mixed in a low 70’s slider that showed promise and a unique power 78 mph change up with late cutting life.

In a game that had lots of dominant pitching earlier and not much assertive hitting, it took another pitcher, John Lobs (2024, RHP, Winston-Salem, N.C.) to deliver the game’s first big blow, a hard hit triple up the right center field alley that plated two runs.  Lobs showed some power in batting practice as well.

Andres Lopez (2025, 2B, York, S.C) barrel up the ball hard and often in batting practice and the left-handed hitter did the same thing in the game, lashing a clean single and hitting a loud drive to medium deep center field.
