Navy Vs. Orange/ Columbia Blue Vs. Purple Highlights
10/24/2021 5:00:00 AM

Roanan Cason (2024 C, Portland, OR) showed some potential on the bump, striking out four over two shutout frames. The right-hander has a solid fastball with a pair of developing breaking balls. Fastball ran up to 82 mph with subtle life up in the zone, sat 79-80 mph. Showed some feel for a mid-60s curveball with a bit of depth and 11-5 shape. Also flashed a low-70s changeup, though it lacked much firm shape and fade. Has potential with good arm strength on the mound and behind the plate. Throws with conviction. Has room to fill out and develop physically. Uncommitted for the 2024 class.

Isaiah Najera (2024 OF, Whittier, CA) impressed on both sides of the ball. Opened eyes with a diving grab in left field in the first innings. Hustled to his right to track the ball, showed good speed and range to cover ground. Gets consistent jumps in the outfield. At the plate, Najera creates solid bat speed from a compact right-handed swing. Stays short and stays on plane to drive it to his pull side. Simple hands and approach, doesn't look overmatched in the box. Showcased his skills on both sides, remains uncommitted for the 2024 class.

Tommy Marsh (2023 3B, Englewood, CO) was another loud performer on both sides. The Tulane commit finished his day going 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and pitched three shutout innings with seven strikeouts. Marsh stands out physically at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds with more room to fill out. Has present strength and quality bat speed. Showed the ability to drive the ball to the pull-side gap consistently. Has some untapped potential on the bump, ran the fastball up to 86 mph and sat 83-84 mph with some sink. Feel for spin stood out. Threw a potent 67-68 mph curveball that showed 11-5 shape and depth. Forced plenty of whiffs via his two-pitch mix from a high three-quarter slot. Marsh is a physical two-way talent with upside.

Anthony Lovato (2022 OF, Chula Vista, CA) stung a double deep to right-center field his first time up and followed it up with more hard contact. Good size and strength that translates in game. Pounces on mistakes in the zone with strong hands and loft in the path. Showed a good feel to the pull side and tapped into some of his raw power. Good strength and size with more in store as he continues to develop. Touched 73 mph on the bump in relief. Remains an uncommitted bat to keep a close eye on for the 2022 class.

Mason Shulman (2024 OF, Calabasas, CA) showcased a smooth right-handed stroke at the plate. Shulman laced an impressive double to the gap his first time up. Stays level and controlled with solid barrel control. Makes adjustments with each plate appearance and performed well on both sides. Has some quickness and burst out of the box. Uncommitted for the 2024 class.

Lukas Dawson (2023 SS, Escondido, CA) opened eyes with his physical frame and intriguing power at the plate. Made some of the loudest contact on the day with his drive to deep left field for a sacrifice fly. Present strength with more in store. Compact right-handed swing. Stays short and creates good strength out front with steady hands through the zone. Gets the barrel head out front with solid extension. Showed a strong arm to make a pair of plays deep in the hole at shortstop. Enticing size and overall profile that remains uncommitted for the 2023 class.

Wren Woods (2025 SS, Palos Verdes Estates, CA) showed a good feel for the barrel. Woods laced hits to the pull side with some intent and quickness in the path. Stays short to the ball with simple hands. Showed strength in batting practice that translated in game, uses strong levers to get extended and shoot to the pull. Solid barrel control and frequency over the past two days. Good size with more in store as he develops. Another name to keep a eye on for the 2025 class.

Daniel Aguilera (2023 SS, Camarillo, CA) flashed the leather at shortstop on multiple occasions. Aguilera's athleticism was on full display showing crisp lateral movements and a strong arm to make plays deep in the hole consistently. He moves well to either side and makes throws from different arm slots. His feel for the glove stood out, and his compact right-handed swing has some potential. Able to drive it to both fields when his timing is down, quick left leg trigger with solid bat speed. Pay attention to this uncommitted 2023 product.
