Matthew Haynie (2022 RHP, Shallowater, TX) has a projectable frame and is
throwing well from a higher slot. He gets solid extension off the mound. His
fastball had some carry to it and generated a lot of swing and miss with his
slurve. He struck out four in three innings pitched.
Matthew Brandt (2022 SS, Mansfield, TX) had a three-hit game including a
well struck double to the opposite field. His swing has solid strength to it
with good barrel control. He shows a nice whole fields approach as well. Brandt
is committed to Howard College.
Caden Cunningham (2022 LHP, Austin, TX) has been sharp on the mound in this
game. He throws from a lower slot that has deception to it and mixes well. His
fastball has some arm side life to it and pairs it with a sweepy breaking ball.
He struck out five in three shutout innings. He has solid athleticism on the
mound.
Ashton Lassiter (2023 RHP, Bellaire, TX) showed off a live arm on the mound.
His fastball was up to 85 and flashed a solid sweeper slider. He also flashed a
curveball that had more depth to it. He struck out three in three scoreless
innings.
Grayson Allred (2022 RHP, Buda, TX) had a good game on both sides of the
ball. He showed off a good two pitch combo on the mound and ripped a double
that one hopped the left-center field fence.
Tristan Menchaca (2023 SS, Burleson, TX) had a multi-hit game. He showed a
solid feel for the barrel in BP and carried it over into the game. Also shows
advanced bat to ball skills. Good athleticism in the field at SS.
Benjamin Longoria (2023 C, Austin, TX) had a multi-hit game as feel showing
off a good swing with strength to it. He showed of a strong throwing arm behind
the plate in the pre-game workout.
