2021 Sunshine Northeast (06/05/2021 - 06/06/2021)

4-Cardinal v. 8-Orange Game Highlights
6/6/2021 8:18:59 PM

Bradley Gagen (2022 LHP, Ashburn, VA)- was electric during his three innings of work, as the young left-hander ran his fastball up to 91 mph early before settling in the 84-87 mph range for the duration of his outing. The University of Tennessee commit threw three pitches for strikes in any count, tunneling his well-replicated changeup that flashed good fade and power depth to it. His slider is still in the developmental stages with a promising spin profile that will improve as he gets more consistent with his release point. The 2022 grad should continue to see an uptick in his velocity as he continues to add strength.

Angel Deaza (2023 1B, Elizabeth, NJ)- showed the ability to adjust well within his at-bat, as he sat back to drive a double to left field. The young 2023 grad incorporates simple swing mechanics with looseness to his hands, generating tons of present bat speed and good control of his barrel. Deaza collected two hits in this one.

Matt Archibald (2022 RHP, Churchville, MD)- continued to make loud contact in this one, as he found the barrel in three of his at-bats. The strongly built 2022 grad stays fairly simple with his stroke, creating good hip torque and quickness with his hands to deliver the barrel with authority.

Hayden Miller (2022 SS, Sandy Hook, CT)- continued to showcase his versatility as the primary shortstop ran his fastball up to 86 mph out of the 'pen. The durably built right-hander uses drop and drive lower half mechanics to explode down the slope, while working from a loose three-quarters arm slot. He mixed in a slower 11-5 shaped curveball for both strikes and swings-and-misses, tunneling it effectively to mimic his fastball release. The Sandy Hook, Conn. native has impressed on both sides of the ball all weekend.
