2019 Jr. National Showcase (06/06/2019 - 06/09/2019)

11-Vegas Gold vs. 10-Royal Game Highlights
6/9/2019 2:15:12 PM
Alex Ulloa (2021 SS, Cutler Bay, FL) put on a clinic defensively with a number of successful difficult plays recorded. He showed excellent hands with balance to his right at shortstop and has a good internal clock with enough arm strength to know when he needs to dial up his throws.

Eli Copenhaver (2021 LHP, Birmingham, AL) carved hitters up with a primarily two pitch mix that included a deceptive, lively fastball up to 84 mph. The slider is a difference maker with two-plane break especially when buried for whiffs.

Drew Wyers (2022 SS, Columbus, NJ) showed off the athleticism with a very smooth 6-3 double play. He leaped high off the ground to snag a liner and delivered a strong throw to first to double up the offense.

Ty Uber (2021 RHP, Cameron Park, CA) turned in a long at-bat where he showed a patient approach and walked twice before singling in a run. He went with an outer half fastball to drive it to right field on a line to go along with a stolen base.

Bryan Loriga (2021 3B, Hialeah, FL) might have recorded the hardest hit ball of the day with an absolute shot to the third base line. That was flared down thanks to a dive by Tucker Toman (2022 3B, Columbia, SC) who showed off the reflexes and twitch with the diving stab.

Rene Lastres (2021 C, Hialeah Gardens, FL) had two very productive at-bat with an absolute laser of a flyout in the first inning and a soft line drive for a run-scoring single in his last at-bat. He's a very strong righthanded hitter with tremendous impact.

Gavin Mez (2021 C, Las Vegas, NV) went with an outer half fastball to knock in a single early in the game and continued his hot streak which brought his hit total up for the entire weekend.
