2019 Jr. National Showcase (06/06/2019 - 06/09/2019)

Navy vs. Red Highlights
6/9/2019 9:43:20 AM

Andrew Painter (2021 RHP, Pompano Beach, FL) checks a lot of box immediately from his long and projectable frame to how smooth and fast his arm action is. He ran his fastball up to 94 mph which featured cut action from his release and showed comfort landing a mid-70s breaker for strikes as well.

Keegan Allen (2021 RHP, Rogers, AR) showed an up-tempo delivery with a fast arm through the back while creating some plane. He ran his fastball up to 90 mph and tunneled the changeup very well, showing late fading life down in the zone.

Gavin Miller (2022 SS, Oakdale, PA) dug right during his first at-bat and showed no problem handling velocity, sending a 90 mph fastball with cut back up the middle for a hard single.

Mason Cooper (2021 C, Jefferson, GA) put the Navy team on the board with a two RBI single into right field in the second inning. He did a nice job of keeping his hands back on a changeup and got the barrel to it for a line drive single.

Brady House (2021 SS, Winder, GA), one of the top players in class, announced his presence in this game as he turned around an 87 mph for a no doubt blast off the barrel over the left field fence.

Ryan Spikes (2021 SS, Covington, GA) followed House in the inning with an impressive swing of his own, barreling a fastball to the pull side gap for a two base hit, continuing to show well offensively this weekend.

Roy "Bubba" Chandler (2021 RHP, Bogart, GA) is an uncommitted arm out of Georgia who ran his fastball up to 90 mph with occasional cut action through zone. He opened the outing with a first pitch curveball and continued to show confidence in his secondaries as he tripled up on his changeup at one point.

Riley Stanford (2022 OF, Gainesville, GA) lived mostly in the upper-80s with his fastball, bumping as high as 91 mph during his time on the mound. There’s plenty of arm speed through the back and he also flashed a slider up to 76 mph within the zone.
