2019 Jr. National Showcase (06/06/2019 - 06/09/2019)

Teams 5-6 BP Highlights
6/6/2019 5:24:02 PM
Lauden Brooks (2021 SS, Cincinnati, OH) has a simple and repeatable stroke while working to all fields on a line. There's looseness and bat speed to the swing and made very consistent contact to all fields with intent.

Jayden Melendez (2021 C, Palmetto Bay, FL) has excellent barrel skills with requisite bat speed and carry off the barrel. His hands work very well into the swing with a very balanced and direct approach.

Gavin Baldwin (2021 OF, Nashville, IL) has big juice to the pull side with an easy swing that has pretty good carry off the barrel. His hands launch the ball nicely and the ball jumps off the barrel from a low effort stroke.

Rocko Brzezniak (2022 1B, Matawan, NJ) has excellent bat speed and impact off the barrel. He does a good job at launching the ball with carry and backspin to both sides of the field and power is going to play given the impressive raw bat speed.

Matthew Prevesk (2021 OF, Apopka, FL) got extended out in front consistently with some whip to the barrel and create hard line drives to the pull side. He has a simple swing and works well to the pull side with some leverage.

Jack Holman (2021 C, Wrightwood, CA) is a physical lefthanded bat with strength and balance in the batter's box. He's comfortable and confident with a good amount of line drives to pull and impacts it hard off the barrel.

Kruise Newman (2021 RHP, Richmond, KY) has consistent leverage off the front side with easy bat speed. Has excellent swing plane with a good amount of loft to the barrel to create power to the pull side.

Santino Rao (2021 1B, Orlando, FL) is a strong hitter with loose hands and the ability to create leverage to the pull side. He gets his hands extended and is strong enough to turn the barrel over with impact.

Preston Wright (2021 OF, Mascoutah, IL) has a whippy barrel head with a smooth barrel path throughout. He turns hard over the inside to create leverage while showing some home run power to the pull side.

Josh Pearson (2021 OF, West Monroe, LA) has very advanced bat speed that allows him to create serious impact to the pull side. He rotates and explodes onto the baseball which allows him to high exit velocities off the barrel.

Jonathan Vastine (2021 SS, Bartow, FL) has really good feel for the barrel with fast hands that work well in conjunction with the swing. There's controlled violence to the swing with good leverage and really uses the whole field with intent.

Michael Bello (2021 OF, Oak Ridge, NJ) hit some balls very hard to the pull side with a big stride into contact and uncoils hard onto the baseball. There's tons of strength and carry off the baseball to the pull side.

Cole Russo (2021 3B, Tampa, FL) has an excellent feel for the barrel with good bat speed and extension out in front. He uses the whole field and the swing plane projects for some serious power at maturity.

Aaron Downs (2021 SS, Pella, IA) is an extremely physical hitter with lots of lift and home run power to the pull side. The bat speed is loud as is the contact off the barrel and he projects to hit for some serious power.

Travis Sanders (2022 SS, Copperas Cove, TX) has some whip to his hands and showed an easy swing with consistent line drive contact. He wore out both sides of the field with hard hit and well struck line drives.

Lucas Torres (2021 OF, Cayey, PR) has big raw power and the ball absolutely flies to the pull side. He strides hard and leverages well onto the baseball to create big carry off the barrel.

Drake Donahoe (2021 RHP, Omaha, NE) has a loose and easy swing that generates a good amount of strength off the barrel. He went yard to the pull side with a high launch and hit a number of well-struck fly balls to pull.

Daylan Pena (2021 1B, Corpus Christi, TX) turns the barrel over with intent to the pull side and has fluidity to the stroke. When he separates he can do some damage to the baseball over the inside and hit a long home run during the round.

Austin Younce (2021 C, Chesapeake, VA) is a strong hitter with bat speed and strength that both project. He drives the ball up the middle nicely and the home run power will continue to show.
