Sunday Batting Practice Highlights

Derrick Dawson (2020 C, Mishawaka, IN) is a very strong left handed hitter with a 6-0/205 frame.  He is a very aggressive hitter who is looking to lift and drive the ball and squared it up very well considering how hard he swings it, especially on the two rockets he lined off the back wall of the 380 foot dome.

Dillon Kark (2019 SS, Commerce Township, MI) continued his impressive showing from drills by showing perhaps the best raw bat speed of the day at the plate.  The Michigan State commits load is a bit complicated but he timed up quickly and crushed some balls with a lofted and strong swing.

Alex Mooney (2021 SS, Rochester Hills, MI) is Dillon Kark's freshman teammate at Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep and is already a Duke commit.  He has a very projectable 6-1/160 body and a loose swing with good hand quickness and plenty of developing bat speed.

Logan Bell (2019 RHP, Lisbon, OH) is a primary pitcher but he has good bat speed from a front side approach and made consistent hard middle of the field contact before flashing some lift late.

Kai St Germaine (2019 RHP, Plymouth, MI) is another primary pitcher with hitting tools and plenty of raw bat speed.  He has big launch angle in his swing and will drive mistakes over the plate with authority.

Jake Margolick (2020 RHP, Highland Park, IL) continues the primary pitcher trend with a very simple and repeatable line drive approach that consistently squared up the ball to all fields.  He'll hit for a high average now with some gap power when he adds strength.

Jack O'Brien (2019 C, Shelby Township, MI) has a strong 6-0/186 build and a simple and repeatable right handed swing approach.  He squared the ball up solidly to the middle of the field with good loud jump off the barrel.

Braden Nawrocki (2019 C, Grand Rapids, MI) has a short and strong swing from an open left handed stance.  He made his best contact when working up the middle and to the pull side with hard line drive contact.

Chandler Goodwin (2019 1B, Fairchance, PA) has a nice 6-2/185 build and a short and crisp right handed swing from a spread stance.  It's a high average approach now with the potential to develop some power with a small adjustment in his swing plane.
