2014 Southeast Top & Underclass

1-Red vs. 2-Navy Highlights
8/23/2014 1:40:10 PM
Peyton Whitten (2015, RHP/SS, Piedmont HS, AL) did a good job of inducing ground ball outs on the mound. Whitten features a quick arm and compact delivery and does a good job of staying on top and getting his pitches on a downhill plane. Whitten's FB topped at 87 MPH and he also displayed good secondary pitches with a CB at 66 MPH and CH at 72 MPH.

Baylor Sundahl (2015, RHP/OF/MIF, Christian Academy, TN) continuously pounded the bottom of the strike zone in his three innings of work. Sundahl repeatedly threw his FB at 83-86 MPH right at the batter's knees. He has a quick, loose arm and showed the ability to get the ball in on the hands of right handed hitters as well. His SL came in at 72 MPH with good, tight rotation.

Brant Stark (2015, C/OF, North Forsyth HS, GA) looked very comfortable in the box going 2-3 at the plate. Stark picked up a 2B and a single and was robbed of another hit to LF in the game. Stark has a balanced swing and good approach.

Denzell Gowdy (2015, 3B/RHP, Worth County HS, GA) is an athletic player with a good approach at the plate. Gowdy has quick hands and leads his swing with the barrel through the zone. Gowdy did a great job of keeping his hands and weight back on a soft CB and collected two hits and an RBI in the game.

Josh McCullar (2015, RHP/3B, Sequoyah HS, GA) works quick on the mound and has a loose arm. McCullar notched five K's in three innings of work with a two-pitch mix. McCullar's FB sat 79-81 MPH with a CB that had good depth at 69 MPH.
