Kody Gibbs (2022, Rosenburg, Texas) is a 6-foot-2 right-hander committed to Texas A&M – Corpus Christi who opened up the event for South Texas Sliders Mayer showing some very intriguing stuff. The body plays extremely well with plenty of athletic upside working down the hill, arm action is a compact path that adds quality jump on the fastball he ran up to 88. Mixed the slider very well, power lateral life that generated a good amount of swing and miss and helped rack up 10 punchouts. Easy 90 projection here, expect a maturing connection in this explosive delivery to leap his ability on the mound.

Carson Courtney (2022, Lufkin, Texas) started the tournament with a very productive two-way performance taking the win on the mound retiring five hitters through an impressive four innings while collecting a multi-hit game one of pool play for 5 Star Performance National. The 6-foot-4 frame with long levers plays very loose with good motor. On the mound he utilizes the length effectively getting out front on his pitches and bringing good life across the plate showcasing the promising secondary. The Sam Houston State commit is an excellent athlete who fits the part on the hill with early impact potential in the rotation.
