13u, 14u BCS Scout Notes: Days 1-2

Rouselle “Rookie” Shepard (2026, North Las Vegas, Nev.) might be one of the most advanced 13-year olds in terms of how well he handles the game already and he’s got some tools to back it up too. A left-handed hitting shortstop, he looks the part physically at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds already and offensively he already has very quick hands and pairs it with an innate handle of the barrel and an impressive ability to use the whole field. Defensively, he’s very smooth and shows both softness to his hands, a good internal clock on ground balls and a solid arm across. Given the impressiveness overall, he’ll be a fun one to follow the rest of the week and then undoubtedly moving forward long-term.
