Another exciting weekend in the books means another exciting rankings update on Monday, as there are five new teams entering the Top 25. There is some movement near the top as Vanderbilt downed Mississippi State at home to improve to No. 3 in the country, behind Arkansas at No. 1 and Texas at No. 2. Arkansas had to deal with some schedule funkiness due to weather and was able to down South Carolina, while Texas survived its first leg of a three-week gauntlet by taking two of three from Oklahoma State. Louisville comes in at No. 4 after getting its weekend series postponed due to COVID, although they did beat Kentucky in the midweek, and Mississippi State falls to No. 5 after their defeat at the hands of the Commodores.

Elsewhere, Notre Dame was able to keep its series streak alive versus Boston College and improves to No. 6 in the country, while Tennessee and TCU also rise to Nos. 7 and 8, respectively. East Carolina falls to No. 9 after their series split against UCF, while South Carolina falls to No. 10. New teams this week include No. 17 Charlotte after just missing a week ago and a series victory over Old Dominion, also considered last week. UC Irvine has been one of the upstarts in the Big West and they come in at No. 18 after defeating Oregon State. Liberty climbs to No. 21 after their 11-1 start in conference play, while Pittsburgh enters at No. 23 due to losses ahead of them in the rankings. Tulane also joins at No. 25, as they’re as hot as anyone in the country with 10 straight victories.

There’s a lot happening this year in college baseball with some upstart programs and some traditional schools playing below expectations. As always, we have our College Player Report Database with live looks from players all across the country for you to check out, so keep it tuned in to perfectgame.org.
