Anthony Ursitti, RHP, Canterbury (Fla.)
Ursitti got the start just over a week ago for undefeated Canterbury, and although he didn’t have the sharpest outing in terms of command, he still showed flashes of premium stuff that we are used to seeing out of the long right-hander. At 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, he’s a physical presence on the mound, but is a pretty good athlete in regard to how much control he has over the delivery and his ability to repeat with explosiveness. It’s a very quick arm as he works hard downhill out of the hand in the mostly 90-92 range, while running it up to 93 in this look. The slider gets up into the low-80s with some sweeping action as his more go-to out pitch, but there’s good pieces on the changeup that as he continues to throw with good intent and land it a bit more should be a pitch that sets up that starter profile at the next level.
