Ohio Valley Qualifier Scout Notes: Day 1 & 2

Triple Crown Prospects got a win to ensure their playoff bid on Sunday morning over KBC Upperclass Prime, aided in part by CJ Delgratta (2021, Delaware, Ohio), a Toledo commit who was dominant in his 4 inning start. Delgratta is a big, physical righthander standing 6-foot-5 inches tall and weighing in at 215 pounds, with the type of physicality that creates an imposing presence on the mound. Delgratta moves pretty well on the mound for a player of his size, showing the ability to consistently get over his front side on time and extend through release, making his 82-85 mph fastball jump on hitters more than the raw velocity would indicate, and he working in a solid 11/5-shaped downer curveball as well. He pounded the strike zone and only allowed 3 total baserunners, adept at both missing bats and eliciting weak contact.
