Turning in a strong performance on Tuesday morning was Florida Burn righthander Luke Geske (2023, Sarasota, Fla.) who committed to Miami earlier this week. The righthander twirled a very strong start as he fired six shutout innings while generally inducing a lot of weak contact and striking out six hitters in the process. The arm stroke is loose and whippy with the arm speed that projects well. He pounded the zone with his lively fastball that sat at 80-84 mph with good sinking and arm side life. The breaking ball shows very good 1/7 shape with good depth and bite though it’ll be an even better pitch as he adds strength and tightens the pitch up a bit. There’s a strong starting pitching repertoire for Geske and he’ll be followed closely moving forward as he continues to develop.
