Braden Gabel (2024, Acworth, Ga.) has great barrel control and hand eye. The swing is not the most textbook, but it works for him and the hard hits come quite often. Gabel is a leadoff hitting shortstop for the SP Prowlers who has good hands and carry to his short arm throws. He is a solid runner and a spark plug at the top of the order. Gabel had a strong showing at the Summer Shootout going 7-14 (.500) at the plate including a deep double to the pull side on Friday. With minor adjustments to his shift and weight transfer into contact, Gabel has the makings of a really talented ball player.
