Georgia

This will be the deepest team Scott Stricklin has fielded at Georgia and this unit is laden with talented two-way players. Sophomores Tucker Bradley and Aaron Schunk stand out in this two-way group and both players bring excellent baseball instincts. Schunk looked destined for a productive freshman season before he was derailed by injury.

Michael Curry and Cam Shepherd give the Bulldogs star power and it wouldn’t be shocking to see both players earn First Team All-SEC honors. Senior Keegan McGovern has a career average of .274 over an incredible 154 starts for Georgia and he is another interesting offensive piece for this club.

Three freshmen who should make an immediate impact are middle infielder Ivan Johnson, righthander Emerson Hancock and two-way lefthander C.J. Smith. Johnson has the talent to be an elite defender and Hancock projects as a weekend rotation arm.

The wildcards for the Bulldogs’ 2018 season will be the progressions at catcher and the front of the rotation. Austin Biggar is an exceptional athlete yet his catching skills lagged behind his great potential during a challenging freshman year. Likewise, arms Tony Locey, Justin Glover and Kevin Smith all have shown flashes of brilliance in their careers with consistency being the final box to check if they are going to be bell cows for this staff. Hard-throwing sophomore Zac Kristofak is another starting option with a big upside.
