2018 Top Prospects

Xavier Bussey  OF - 2018 - Garner, NC
North Carolina A&T/Pensacola State

The South Carolina commit put on an outstanding display over the weekend and showed elite tools across the board. Bussey is an easy plus athlete and runner, with a showcase best run time of 6.55, and it plays well on the bases. He is exciting in the batter's box with electric bat speed and a very high power ceiling as he launched multiple balls into orbit during the BP session and turned in a showcase-best 99 mph exit velocity.

Sen Kenneally  RHP - 2018 - Morehead City, NC
Virginia

Kenneally was extremely impressive during his time on the mound as he pounded the strike zone and showed off a solid two-pitch mix. The 6-foot-8 righthander projects very well with a compact arm action and the ability to work to both sides of the plate. The slider was a weapon for him as the pitch could be located to both sides and flashed two-plane action.

Mark Evans  SS - 2018 - Yorktown, VA
Hampden-Sydney College

Evans showed excellent quick-twitch athleticism and a high motor while displaying high-end skills both with the bat and the glove. He was clocked at 6.69 seconds during the 60-yard dash with clean and quick actions over at shortstop. Offensively, he showed very good barrel control with the ability to drive the ball gap-to-gap and extend hits for extra bases.

Kain Kiser  RHP - 2018 - Pilot Mountain, NC
Lenoir-Rhyne

Kiser showed excellent two-way potential on the mound with advanced skills both on the mound and at the dish. The Lenoir-Rhyne commit ran his fastball up to 87 mph with occasional cut and showed excellent command of the fastball with solid feel for spin. He has tremendous strength at the plate with a high power ceiling to all fields.

Wade Chandler  OF - 2018 - Apex, NC
UNC-Asheville

Chandler is another high-level athlete with solid tools in multiple areas that bode for a nice overall profile. He has solid arm strength and twitchy actions in the outfield that project well and turned in a 6.75 60-yard dash time. Offensively, he showed natural loft with clean usage of his lower half through contact.

Greg Strickland  RHP - 2018 - Raleigh, NC
Brown

Strickland had a fantastic outing over the weekend and the Brown commit showed a strong two-pitch mix and approach on the mound. He has a very fluid delivery with a loose and easy arm action with a repertoire featuring a lively fastball up to 86 mph. Good feel for the slider and flashed sharp bite down and to the glove side.

Caleb McRoy  LHP - 2018 - Raleigh, NC
North Carolina Central

McRoy showed very good tools highlighted by his arm strength that resulted in a showcase-high outfield velocity of 90 mph. He has very good athleticism, ran a 6.87 60-yard dash, with easy generation of carry on throws. Very intriguing prospect on the mound as well from a fuller arm path and a curveball that flashed sharpness low in the zone.

Graham Barefoot  C - 2018 - Snow Hill, NC

Barefoot has a very versatile profile as he showed intriguing tools in many facets of the overall game. He turned in a sub-7.00 60-yard dash to highlight his athleticism with advanced catch-and-throw skills as he registered the highs in both velocity and pop times for catchers. Barefoot also flashed bat speed from a simple, on-plane swing.

Max Hundley  OF - 2018 - Sanford, NC
Uncommitted

Hundley has very good athleticism and tools that project well to the next level. He showed good arm strength and carry on his throws from the outfield, up to 87 mph, with fluid actions and instincts. Hundley works from a contact-oriented approach at the plate with the ability to create line drives to all fields.

Dalton Jackson  1B - 2018 - Chesapeake, VA
Navy

Jackson was one of the more impressive hitters over the course of the weekend with loud barrel skills and the bat speed and strength to back it up. He has a naturally lofted swing plane and showed the ability to create leverage throughout the lower half while looking to elevate. The Navy commit impacts the ball with incredible strength for serious juice off the bat.

Kyle Mott  RHP - 2018 - Fuquay-Varina, NC
North Carolina

Mott is a very interesting prospect with a projectable build and arm to go along with present pitchability. His fastball reached as high as 86 mph with looseness and arm speed throughout the path. He showed a quality two-pitch mix with repeatable mechanics and the ability to work his pitches all over the strike zone.

Christian Silvero-Jones  OF - 2018 - Lagrange, NC
Uncommitted

Silvero-Jones has a very loud offensive presence, showing out both in BP and during the game. He has a strong overall build with present physicality and the ability to create loud contact off the abrrel as evidenced by his 95 mph exit velocity. Silvero Jones has a repeateble, loose swing and very good power potential primarily to the pull side.
