Perfect Game is pleased and excited to announce that the long-running PG Underclass All-American Games in San Diego will return to the 2017 PG Events Calendar for a 14th straight year, and two new high-profile showcase events will debut this fall.
The PG Underclass All-American Games, held in conjunction with the PG All-American Classic, will run Aug. 14-15 at Fowler Park on the University of San Diego campus.
More than 30 future big-leaguers have participated in the PG Underclass All-American Games since the debut in 2004, including Bryce Harper, Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Marcus Stroman and Christian Yelich. Invitations to this premier underclass event will be sent to top prep prospects in the graduating classes of 2019 and 2020 a little later this year.
The PG Top Prospect Games at TCU and the PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase are the two new events that will debut in the fall.
The PG Top Prospect Games at TCU will mirror the PG Underclass All-American Games in that the top prospects that are invited will play in front of scouts in a tournament format on one field, in this case the state-of-the-art Lupton Stadium on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. The event is scheduled for Sept. 23-24 with invitations being issued later in the summer.
The inaugural PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase will be held at PG Park South-LakePoint in Emerson, Ga., Oct. 28-29, and will be the final event at PG Park South in the fall of 2017. Only players that were named to a Top Prospect Team at a previous PG showcase or those that have been ranked nationally by PG’s scouting department will receive invitations to this elite event.
