2022 PG Softball KC Scouting Combine - Fall
Sophia Bauman is a 2025 C/3B, SS from Grimes, IA who attends Dallas Center-Grimes Community. Sophia is an athletic catcher and showcased her ability to not only control the field from behind the plate but also her ability to utilize her speed and athleticism on the field at our Kansas City Combine this past October. Behind the plate Sophia is a smooth and strong catcher that utilizes her leg drive really well in her throw. Her best transfer was a 1.90 from her knees and did a great job with her quick transfer and leg drive. Offensively, she is a right handed stand in power hitter who does a great job with her barrel whip and does a good job taking her barrel head short to the zone. Sophia shows really big upside with her power offensively and has built a really good foundation mechanically. Overall Sophia is a stand out athlete that has the capability to play at the Division 1 level. I am excited to see what the future has in store for her.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
