2022 PG Softball Winter Scouting Combine - Iowa
Abby Bellamy is a 5-foot-4, class of 2023 3B/UT from Mexico, MO who attends Mexico HS. Abby is a gifted player who approaches the game with a solid fundamental ability and a certain attention to detail. In addition to her noticeable ability on the field, Abby is also a solid achiever in the classroom. She ran a 5.84 40-yard dash and was clocked at 4.00 from HP to 1B. She also posted a 5'8 1/2 standing broad jump. A primary infielder, Abby is smooth, easy, and consistent with her movement to position and field the ball. Her glove plays well. She transitions consistently and her 60-mph throws, and short, quick throwing style allow her tosses to be firm, show carry, and be routinely accurate. At the plate, Abby starts with an open stance and closes as she loads. Abby intends, with each swing, to impact the ball. There is intent with each and every swing. She has a quick and powerful trigger and when her timing is right, she can drive it out of any part pf the park. She shows plus barrel control and positive whip to the action. Abby has a lot of upside potential that is only going to improve over the course of her last two HS and travel ball seasons. As she gains even more strength as she physically matures, she will be an offensive force to be reckoned with. Her noticeable passion for the sport is commendable. Obvious promise to continue her career at the next level.
