Jacob Smith (2023, King, N.C.) took the ball for the Diamond Deacons in the opening round of bracket play and was flat out unhittable. He moved his fastball on both sides of the plate while mixing up his pitches with a change-of-pace breaking ball. Smith dominated the hitters helping his team advance to the next round of the playoffs. He barely missed a perfect game in the second inning after a hit batter, but proceeded to retire the rest of the batters in a row for an outstanding performance.

Noah Quarless (2023, Winston Salem, N.C.) was catching and handling the pitching staff for the Diamond Deacons 2023 team with a smooth, easy, quick release to the bases keeping runners at bay.
