2020 High School Preview Index | Mid-Atlantic Top Teams, Prospects

Mid-Atlantic Region: Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia

The Mid-Atlantic Region is very filled with strong arms and especially with two-way prospects at the moment and it would be very interesting to track whether more two-way prospects tend to come from this part of the country. Literally every member of the Dream Team, except catcher Jack Bulger, has thrown at major Perfect Game tournaments or showcases and been at least upper-80s to low-90s with some even in the mid-90s. It is not surprising that Nolan McLean, the team’s only other PG All-American aside from Bulger, fills the utility role on the roster.

Chapin High School in South Carolina is the Region’s only school ranked in the Perfect Game Preseason Top 50, although there are many other teams on the cusp. They lead what is a strong overall surge of South Carolina prospects dotting the Perfect Game 2020 to 2022 prospect lists.

C – Jack Bulger
Bulger is one of the more athletic catchers one will find, with outstanding strength on his 6-foot, 205-pound frame and exceptional quickness and speed for the position. A Perfect Game All-American who is currently ranked 28th nationally in the 2020 class, Bulger hit .545-5-32 with 25 stolen bases for DeMatha Catholic as a junior. He is signed with Vanderbilt.
