Only four teams ranked among the Top 25 lost their weekend series, and of those teams near the bottom of the rankings – Texas A&M and Maryland – both went 2-2 on the week to salvage their spot in the rankings. Teams that had big weeks in many cases had to settle for a very modest move up or no advancement at all, and no new teams were welcomed to the Top 25.

The biggest statements made over the weekend came in Gainesville, Fla., and Fort Worth, Texas, as the Gators and Horned Frogs swept Ole Miss and Texas respectively. TCU enjoyed a dramatic game winner on Sunday as Luken Baker hit a booming walkoff double in the 10th inning that gave he and his teammates the sweep over their in-state and in-conference rivals. It also gave them a two-game lead over Texas Tech in the Big 12. Florida in the meantime took over sole possession of the SEC East with a 16-8 mark, taking advantage of Kentucky getting beat two out of three games by Georgia.

Joining Kentucky in the hard luck category of the SEC, Auburn got swept, at home, by Alabama and fall from a tie for first in the SEC West to a tie for fourth with two weeks, and six games, to go.

Oregon State and Louisville continue their dominance, as Oregon State swept Cal at home and Louisville did the same to Notre Dame on the road. Louisville eclipsed the 40-win plateau with a sparkling 42-6 overall record while the Beavers are right behind at 38-4.
