Dakota Carter is a 2017 OF/RHP/2B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Covington, GA who attends Piedmont Academy. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build that has physical projection. Posted a 7.33 60 yard dash. From the field, slight gather with good hands and sound feet with carry on throws. Strong arm up to 86 across the diamond. At the plate, used a wide base and deep hand load timing mechanism. Present strength with bat speed and extension. Pull oriented approach with a line drive plane. On the mound, utilized a tight, three quarter arm slot with a loose arm action. Utilized lower half well and clears hips through delivery. Creates good downhill plane with a fastball that topped out at 87 and had good riding life. Showed tight breaking 11/5 shaped curveball with depth. Strike thrower that will work both sides of the plate and attacks hitters with fast paced delivery. Should continue to develop with added strength. Good student. Named to Top Prospect List.
