Alexander Easton is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 6-3 160 lb. frame from Rockford, IL who attends Boylan Central Catholic. Primary left-handed pitcher, slight hip turn on the gather and crouches into the release. Slings it from a side arm slot, has a deceptive and funky delivery with jumpy actions. Attacks the inner half with the fastball, sat 70-74 mph, topping out at 76 mph. Throws a full mix, featuring curveball, slider, and changeup. Tunnels the slider very well, shows some bend to the shape with slow sweeping action. Curveball looks similar, gets more vertical on it and holds a 1/7 shape. Mixed speeds and the delivery was deceptive enough to get outs. Left-handed hitter with a tall and slightly open stance, short load and swing path. Tends to reach for it, shows limited hand//wrist strength. Rotational swing and strictly pull side approach, flies open at times. Displayed good balance throughout the operation, will improve impact potential as he drives the hips forward and uses the lower half more actively. Good student.
