Jesse Garza is a 2027 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Pharr, TX who attends PSJA. A bigger frame and build with strength that shows throughout. Budding physicality. Ran an 8.11 60-yard dash. A primary right-handed pitcher who jumped on the mound and worked up to 83 mph with tons of arm-side life to it. He also flashed a curveball with an 11/5 shape to it, mixing in a changeup in the upper-60s as well. He showed off arm strength in his outing on the mound and was able to mix three pitches to attack opposing hitters. Longer arm action with some whip through his three-quarters release. Frontside moves well as he works down the slope. Projectable traits on the mound moving forward. He threw 3.0 innings, allowing just 1 hit, with 5 strikeouts to his credit. A left-handed hitter who sets up with an upright stance and open base. The hands are set higher in his setup with a wrapped start. He uses a hover trigger to get the lower half engaged working through contact. It was a loose and leveraged stroke that allowed Garza to show his feel for the barrel. Used the strength well to work on the barrel up the middle and pull-side, creating some backspin. Projectable traits in the batters' box as well. Produced a 91 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Also worked out as an infielder who had a corner infield look to him. Played deep and showed off arm strength during his round. Squared up the ball with above-average arm strength across, throwing 86 mph. Good student. Named to 2023 PG Main Event TP List.
