Cameron Nielson is a 2023 MIF/RHP with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Holladay, UT who attends Cottonwood. Medium slender build with plenty of room to fill out as he continues to develop. Primary infielder, fields out in front and moves pretty well into the hole as well as up the middle. Shuffles from side to side, at his best when getting his glove out early. Arm strength is solid and will continue to improve alongside his build. On the mound, has a longer arm stroke that comes up to a high three-quarters slot. Mid leg lift, hands stay close to the body until separation. Fastball up to 83 mph, fills up the zone with his heater. Mixes in a large 11-to-5 shaped curveball with good depth to the plate. Ability to drop it in for strikes. At the plate, uses a narrow and open stance with a leg kick trigger. Hands work direct to the baseball, can drive the ball into either gap. Good student in the classroom as well.
