Franklin Pichardo is a 2025 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-5 146 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, NC who attends Colegio Hermanas Mirabal. Young, square shoulder build with some present strength and additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 9.30 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a higher set behind the plate during drills, gets tall out of crouch and can utilize more footwork to gain ground, tight arm action and release, arm strength will continue to develop. Fields the ball out front in the infield, extra step through release, shows carry on throws across, repeats actions and worked through the backhand well, hands work at the ball. Also pitched, gets tall on backside with leg lift up to belt, short and rotational stride coming down with a short and compact arm action working to a three-quarters release. Fastball topped out at 66 mph, occasional cut actions and stayed off barrels while filling the zone. Weak contact off the barrel, flashed a curveball at 59 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Hands stay tight and inside through swing, easy and direct path to the ball. Shows a consistent handle for the barrel, bat speed will continue to improve with strength, flashes lift to path. Very good student.
