CJ Gray is a 2025 SS/RHP with a 5-8 130 lb. frame from Kannapolis, NC who attends A L Brown. Slender young build. 8.33 runner in the sixty. Moves well side to side in the infield on defense and has athleticism through the ball, quick hands at the ball, tends to double tap his hands during his exchange, throws well from different arm slots and makes very accurate throws, has the actions to continue to develop defensively with additional strength and physical maturity. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance, strides into contact well, loads his hands up tight to his body and drives them down to the baseball, mechanical swing, will need to make adjustments moving forward. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a long and loose arm action from a low arm slot, tends to open his front side very early. Fastball topped out at 75 mph with some sinking action in the zone, mixed in a rare sweeping breaking ball.
