Luis Becerra is a 2021 RHP/IF with a 5-6 160 lb. frame from Laredo, TX who attends Dr Leo Cigarroa. Smaller, compact frame with room to fill out. Recorded a 7.70 second 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, smooth mechanics and a repeatable operation, works the arm through a three-quarters slot and pitches to contact, fastball stays in the zone consistently, shows feel to land a curveball with short break in the zone. Secondary infielder, worked out in the infield with a deliberate approach to the ball, some stiffness to glove work but gets it there on time, shows carry on accurate throws across. Left-handed hitter, stands tall and starts slightly open, works on a line drive barrel plane with developing control of the barrel, loose hands and works mostly to the pull side turning the barrel over regularly. Outstanding student.
