William Edwards is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Garrison, TX who attends Garrison HS. Large frame, lean athletic build with broad shoulders, long limbs, and some room to fill out at physical maturity. Primary righthanded pitcher, side-step delivery with a slight gather and pause at the apex of leg lift. Long, extended arm-swing with some presentation backside. Small drop and drive elements to delivery, maintains solid balance through release, works to a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball up to 83 mph, offering has slight wiggle, shows ability to cut and run the pitch. Also showed breaking ball with varied tilt in the upper-60s and low-70s, developed feel for locating pitch in later innings. Also worked out in the infield, fields out in front of body, solid accurate throws across the diamond, up to 82 mph in defensive drills. Right handed hitter, high hands set with toe-tap timing mechanism. Showed good flow and natural rhythm with feel for the barrel. Solid bat speed, showed ability to get extended, pull-oriented approach. Projects well as a hitter. Excellent student.
