James Clapp is a 2017 C/1B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Bellaire, TX who attends Bellaire HS. Big and strong physical build, football type build. Right handed hitter, spread no stride approach, upper half rotational swing with a lock up lower half that forces him to stay on his back side, has the strength to hit but not the swing mechanics at present, will improve with adjustments. First base tools on defense, 7.65 runner, very compact arm action with developing arm strength. Good student.
