2023 Northern California Workout Showcase (Saturday)
Ahren Verma is a 2025 SS/2B with a 5-6 140 lb. small athletic frame from Rocklin, CA who attends Rocklin High School. At the plate he sets up in a traditional balanced stance and employs a small leg kick loading mechanism. Shows a simple swing with no wasted movement and a direct downward path to the baseball. Squared it up consistently using a pull approach. Demonstrated that there is some pop in the bat to the pull side. Defensively Verma uses the proper foot/glove mechanics and shows solid fundamentals approaching the ball. He moves well laterally showed the ability to make all the plays and throw on the run accurately. On the mound Verma has simple, fundamentally sound mechanics and athletic delivery out of an over-the-top arm slot. Pounded the zone and attacked hitters. A strike thrower with the ability to land his secondaries. Mixed it up with a excellent knuckleball that produced chases and swing and misses.
