2022 Great Lakes Prospect Showcase
Cole Clawson is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Clarendon Hills, IL who attends Hinsdale Central. Nice athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a busy deep hand load, swings hard and has good present bat speed and strength at contact, pull side to mid field contact, can get off-time with his hand action but has the present bat speed and projection to really keep improving at the plate. 7.33 runner in the sixty. Works athletically through the ball in the outfield, rotational thrower, can improve his on-line carry with more directional throwing mechanics. Also pitched, has a crossfire delivery with some energy at release, throws against a hard front side. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with good running life. Change up was a nice pitch with big fading life, curveball has some sweeping depth as well. Worked around the plate with all three pitches and helped himself defensively on the mound as well. Exceptional student. Named to the Great Lakes Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
