James Huffman is a 2027 RHP/3B with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Knoxville, TN who attends Knoxville West. Large frame with an athletic build. Ran a 8.46 second sixty yard dash. Primary Right-Handed Pitcher, rhythm in the delivery as he stays balanced throughout. Drop and drive actions. Shorter arm stroke and released from a higher slot. Fastball up to 73 mph with good late life. Feel to spin a pair of sharp breaking balls. Curveball with vertical actions in the upper-50's with spin rates over 2000 rpm at times. Sharp slider with tilt in the low-60's. Spin rates also above 2000 rpm. Worked all three in the zone and mowed hitters down. Secondary Third Baseman, sitting back a bit as he kept the baseball in front of him. Scoops it up well and then works into transfer. Young footwork present. Throws up to 69 mph. Right-Handed Hitter, high hand sat with an even base while slightly open. Strides out and sinks into legs. Creates separation before working into a guided linear cut. Great Student.
