Ethan Humphrey is a 2024 1B/RHP with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from Beverly, WV who attends Elkins. Large, broad shouldered frame with long limbs and some present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.94 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, takes direct footwork to the ball and will continue to refine, fields the ball closer to body, showed accuracy on throws following spin play to second base, deliberate tempo to transfer. Also pitched, worked exclusively out of the stretch, simple operation and repeatable; gets down the mound early at times, shorter arm path working to a three-quarters release point, fastball topped out at 73 mph and flashed a curveball at 58 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Rotational swing, full and linear path through the zone, swings with intent and looks to impact at point of contact, stays inside the baseball and creates line drive carry off of the barrel to the pull side. Outstanding student.
