Grant Arnold is a 2028 C/RHP/1B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Merritt Island, FL. Large, well-proportioned frame with a high waist and room to continue adding strength. Recorded a 7.69 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that received from a side-saddled stance, showed developing catch-and-throw skill set with segmented actions into release. Displayed an elongated midline transfer, gains some ground towards his target and delivered accurate throws up to 73 mph from behind the plate during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with deliberate pace and good lower half movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the 73-76 mph range for the majority of his outing, ticking up at times into the upper-70s with natural arm-side run due to arm action and topped out at 79 mph in this look from a higher three-quarters arm slot. Showed some feel for spin with the ability to manipulate both speed and shape to it depending on the count, while completing his mix with a changeup that he killed spin on. Strike thrower with some feel for pitching, will continue to improve with mechanical refinements and additional velocity. Took part in the outfield portion of the workout as well, where he showed a developing defensive skill set and some arm strength on his throws. Fields deeper off to the side, carries some momentum into release and produced fairly accurate throws up to 81 mph during drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from a wider, open base with a high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Intent based swing with some quickness to his hands, incorporates rotational lower half to create bat speed and is best when he stays on a linear plane. Whole field contact with some flashes of power potential to the pullside, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and physical maturity. Versatile prospect with physical upside on both sides of the baseball.
