2024 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Bryan Castellanos is a 2024 C/3B with a 6-3 188 lb. frame from Pooler, GA who attends Lake Minneola. Tall, athletic build with room to continue adding strength. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, switched setup from one knee down to a higher staggered feet setup, athletic coming out with a quick transfer, compact arm action to a higher release point. Generates carry to the bag, recorded throws up to 77 mph and a pop-time of 1.96. Performed well behind the plate in game too. Right-handed hitter, upright stance with hands set by the shoulder, has great bat speed with feel for the barrel. Hand speed really jumps out, routinely got the barrel extended and impacted to the pull-side in the round. Multiple extra base hits in game action. Secondary third baseman, strong corner profile, gets the hands down early with a two hand funnel out front, has confidence in the leather, good arm strength across the diamond, recorded throws up to 84 mph. Also pitched, full windup with a side step into a moderate lift, full arm action to a high three-quarters slot. Drops elbow on the curveball, has ability to mix and repeats nicely. Good student.
