Carlos Martinez is a 2022 SS/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Newark, NJ who attends Hotchkiss. Large frame with a sturdy build. Broad shoulders and a filled out lower half. Ran a 7.17 second sixty yard dash. Primary Shortstop, sitting back on the baseball as he makes sure to keep the play in front of him. Confident with the glove as he scooped it up out front and worked into a quick transfer. Accurate arm showing carry as he threw it 83 mph. Has the instincts and the arm to play on the left side of the infield. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working with a side-step to a higher leg lift. Drops the lead leg before releasing uphill. Higher slot delivery as he stays behind the baseball. Lived around the zone and pounded the glove side with the fastball. Topped out at 82 mph. Mixed in a breaking ball showing 11-to-5 movements in the mid-60's. Right-Handed Hitter, starting spread out before working into a toe-tap to stride. Hands get deep as he creates separation. Longer path as he looked to drive it middle-away. Strength in hands present and proved he could create loud contact when he timed it up properly.
