East World Series Champs Crowned

14U

In a hard-fought matchup on Wednesday, the Hardknox Orioles team and the USA Scout National team faced off in the 14u East World Series championship. After an attempted rally by the Orioles in the top of the seventh, they unfortunately fell short of the championship title 10-8.




David Bowman got things going offensively for the USA Scout team in the bottom of the first. After sending a shot over the fence, scoring teammate Taylor Markakis, Bowman was able to post a pair of runs on the board after his two-run homer.

Markakis and Mason Fowles also helped lead the USA Scout team’s offense. Markakis, who collected five RBIs on the evening, went 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of doubles and a single. Fowles went 3-for-4 at the plate, reaching base in some crucial at-bats.

For the Orioles, Trenton Hill was a top offensive performer going 3-for-4 at the plate. Although Hill started off the game with a strikeout, he was able to step up to the plate in his second at-bat and drill a double down the right field line, scoring teammates Andrew Snow and Zane Garner.

15U

In a friendly matchup between the Georgia Jackets 15u American team and the Georgia Jackets 15u Navy team, the American squad was able to walk away with a 13-2 win and the East World Series title.
 

Turk Williams toed the rubber for the American squad and, through five innings pitched, was able to strike out ten of Navy’s batters, limiting them to only two runs. Williams featured an impressive three-pitch mix with an 80 mph fastball, a curveball, and a slider.

The American offense was also hot all evening long. Ellis Alldredge went 3-for-3 at the plate, starting off with an RBI single in the bottom of the first. Following his single, Alldredge laid down a bunt in the bottom of the third, advancing baserunners Mason Meehan and Chip Glogorski to second and third, respectively. In Allredge’s last at-bat of the game, he stepped up to the plate and drilled a shot over the fence for a solo home run.

16U

On Wednesday the Georgia Jackets 16u National team faced off against the Team Elite 16u Scout team and was able to walk away with a 13-6 run rule win and the championship title.
 

The Jackets attacked at the plate all evening long, combining for 12 hits and 13 runs. In the top of the first Miles Shore got things going with a three run homer, scoring teammates Carson Rech and Ean Marria.

Shore, Brodie Carter, and Hayden Pierce are three of the Jackets who went 2-for-3 at the plate, combining for five RBIs.

17U

In another friendly matchup, the 6-4-3 17u Jaguars and the 6-4-3 17u Cougars faced off in the East World Series Championship. Beasley’s Jaguars were able to run away with the 6-4 win and the 17u championship title.
 

Tyler Cason got the start on the mound for the Jags, striking out six of the Cougars batters, topping out his fastball at 83 mph. Charlie Hendrix then came in for relief, throwing two innings, limiting the Cougars to one run scored.

Offensively, the Cougars got on the board first courtesy of an RBI single from Caden Tuck, scoring teammate William Crowell.

The Jaguars immediately answered back in the first after Logan Kimberl scored on a wild pitch from Ben Hoffman.

The teams went run for run until the Jaguars took a three-run lead in the bottom of the fifth. Austin Mance was able to send a single to left field, scoring teammate Rylam Lewallen, putting the Jaguars up 4-3. From there, Hampton Hudson sent a double to center, scoring Kimberl and Mace, now making the score 6-3.

Although the Cougars tried to rally back, posting one run in the top of the seventh, it wasn't enough to defeat the Jaguars.

18U

On Wednesday, the Georgia Liberty 18u Scout team and the NLB American team faced off in the 18u championship. The Georgia Liberty squad was able to walk away with the East World Series championship title after defeating NLB 8-5.
 

Both teams attacked at the plate all afternoon, combining for 11 hits and 13 runs. Georgia Liberty got off to a strong start scoring three runs in the top of the first. After a series of singles, Kaleb Perry was able to drive in three runs off a double to right field, scoring teammates Jacob Belyea, Braden Simmons, and Camden Laney.

Georgia Liberty then went on to score four more runs in the top of the third, extending their lead 7-1.

Although the NLB squad was able to score three runs in the fourth off some solid at-bats from Ashton Vaughn, Madox Land, Blair Baisden, Chase Davis, and Eddie Castillo, they unfortunately fell short of the championship title.
