Quentin Young, or “Q” as his teammates call him, is a 6-foot-5 infielder from Camarillo, California and can be found this summer playing for the MLB BreakThrough Series 2025 team.

The MLB BreakThrough Series exposes its players to development both on and off the baseball field. The program, started in 2008, offers its participants a variety of seminars, gameplay, scout evaluations, and much more to get them ready for the next level.

“It's really fun,” Young said about being a part of this program. “The coaches have been really helpful, focusing on my swing, trying to stay hitting line drives. You don't want to try and lift the ball and hit a pop up or just swing down.”

Young and the MLB BreakThrough Series got things rolling at the 16U WWBA National Championship on July 6, facing off against the Top Tier Dudes 2025 team. Where they walked away with a 4-0 victory and their first pool play win.

On July 7, the MLB BreakThrough Series kept their momentum going, with a 3-2 win over the Prostock Baseball Club, where Young went 2-for-2 at the plate. In the bottom of the first, Young stepped up to the plate and drove his second pitch of the at-bat to center field for a single. Following his single in the first, Young drove a leadoff double to right field in the bottom of the fourth.

“If it's my pitch, hit it, first pitch swinging,” Young said about his approach as a batter.

Although uncommitted, the No.8-ranked player and two-time PG Select Festival player continues to pique a lot of coaches and scouts interest.

Despite a tough loss against the East Cobb Astros, on July 11, Young and the MLB BreakThrough Series will head back to Vero Beach, Florida to finish up the rest of the summer.

Following this summer season, Young will head back to California where he attends Oaks Christian School for his sophomore year.
