Ty Goodson (‘24 Maiden, N.C.) drew a lot of attention in his start on Thursday. The recent Campbell decommit came out with the fastball in the upper 80’s touching 90 mph as he set the tone. He was able to get the fastball to both halves of the plate with some cross fire action creating some deception as he worked to the plate. The slider was the primary offering of the fastball as he landed it with varying shape at times giving the pitch a few different looks. He was able to throw a harder cutter type pitch at 80 mph that would get to the glove side as well as more of a slurvy look in the upper 70’s. Both breaking balls showed later action and landed for strikes as pitches he could count on in multiple counts. His recruitment will be something to follow closely over the next few weeks as he looks to make his next decision after the recent Campbell coach changes.
