16u BCS Scout Notes: Days 1-2

Tyrese Johnson (2024, West Point, Miss.) showed some serious raw power at the plate today. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound righty has a compact swing, not trying to do too much, and just lets his strength and size do the work throughout his swing. In his first at-bat of the game, he hit a two-run shot over the fence in left, taking an inside pitch on his hands out of the yard. The bat speed is a plus and he has extremely quick hands for his size. Later singled in the game, and also had a ten-pitch at-bat that resulted in a walk. Ended the day going 2-for-3 with two RBI, big powerful bat with quick-twitch muscles and reactions.
