Reid Burkle (2024, Cedar Rapids, Iowa) toed the rubber for Cedar Rapids Prairie in their non-conference matchup against Davenport North. The young uncommitted right-handed pitcher went 4 1/3 innings pitched on the mound, with 7 strikeouts and 6 hits given up while only allowing 2 runs to be scored. Standing at 6-foot-4, 170 pounds, Burkle has tons of projection on the mound where he uses a clean, repeatable delivery with a three-quarters arm slot. The fastball got up to 85 MPH early on in the game, while he sat mostly 81-83 with downhill tilt and ride through the zone. The frame speaks for itself and when you throw in the athleticism on the mound, Burkle becomes a very intriguing arm to follow in the next few years in Iowa.
