SE Elite Championship Scout Notes: Day 1

Braden Gabel (2024, Kennesaw, Ga.) put on a clinic at the plate in the victory for ECB Astros 16u Navy – Frye. The 5-foot-8, 150-pound middle infielder finished up the game going 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Gabel showed good barrel whip through the zone and a willingness to go back up the middle. He has quick hands and relies on them to catch up with fastballs and stay on breaking balls. The glove at second is smooth, working through the ball well and getting good carry on throws. Gabel is just a gamer with excellent baseball instincts. Really fun watch at the plate and sets the tone for the entire lineup out of the leadoff spot.
