Scott McAlpine is a 2019 SS/2B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Haleyville, AL who attends Haleyville. Medium build, lean and athletic frame, projectable and should fill out nicely as he gets stronger. Ran a 7.04 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, took reps in the infield waiting back on the ball, hands work nicely, could gain more ground into throws for added zip across the infield, footwork could use some adjustments at the point of exchange, accurate arm maxing out at 83 mph from shortstop. Righthanded hitter, narrow base with a high hand set and high back elbow to start, short and simple swing, has good balance to swing, all fields approach but does get rotational at times, really struck the ball well in game with a drive to right as well as a hard hit ball to shortstop. Outstanding student.
